Shashi Kant is a professor of forest resource economics and management at the University of Toronto. He is the founding director of the University’s groundbreaking Master of Science in Sustainability Management Program at University of Toronto Mississauga. He has been promoting a unique approach for global sustainability that integrates the concepts of love and sustainability. He has an international reputation as an expert in the intersection of forest management and human rights. In Ontario, he played a key role in modernizing the province’s forest tenure and stumpage systems. He has also worked extensively with Canada’s First Nations to ensure their values inform forest management. Overseas, he has contributed to the recognition of forest rights in India and worked with numerous forest economists in China. He is leading a global think tank – New Frontiers of Forest Economics. Dr.Shashi Kant is Director of Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM) Program. In addition to his administrative duties, he teaches two courses in the program; most fittingly, the first and last core courses; SSM1010Y – Principles of Sustainability Management and SSM1090H – Capstone: The Sustainable Enterprise.
Shashi is also Professor of Forest Resource Economics and Management at the Faculty of Forestry, with emphasis on economics of sustainable forest management.

This schedule will be updated for the fall. Currently it is on a very limited summer schedule that will actually be somewhat similar to the schedule during Reading Week. The logistics remain the same: tickets must be purchased in advance from the ticket machines at the stop (outside Hart House). The machines take cash or credit card, not debit cards. $6.00 each way. Drops off near the library on UTM campus. The shuttle bus ride length is dependent on traffic. During rush hour, it can take more than an hour. Off times, it can take only 35 minutes:
